ABSTRACT We characterized the genetic admixture of 35 individuals which were selected because they declared to be African descendants and due to their phenotype characteristics. The genetic admixture was obtained through 8 biallelic molecular markers characterized by means of PCR and PCR-RFLP. The results showed that the sample received the African (49,1%±3,8), American (19,7%±3,8), and European (31,2%±0,7) contribution. The adaptation of the pattern used reached 99,88% (R2) and the determination of the European and American contribution was similar to the one previously presented for the same population by protein polymorphisms. The results obtained by the use of molecular specific biallelic markers showing 30% or higher differences in their distributions among the parental populations are discussed together with results previously obtained for the same sample with mitochondrial and Y chromosome lineages.
